Little Chef

So I have something to admit…

After a busy fall season and seeing so many images of my clients’ family and children, I realized something.  I really don’t have a lot of images of my own family!  I guess it’s kind of like the “shoe cobbler’s kids have no shoes” or however the saying goes!  So one of my goals for 2012 is to make the time to document more of my son’s life.  I will be making a point to do his own “session” at least once a week, choosing to document an activity or something else that “him” at the moment.

Our first adventure, baking!  My little guy LOVES to be in the kitchen and has a huge obsession for kitchen utensils.  So much that he is seldom seen without a wooden spoon or spatula in his hand (including when he goes to bed!).:)

So as we were getting everything ready, and yes this was after I got him all excited about baking cupcakes, I realized that out of the probably 10 different flours in our house (we love to bake our own breads with ancient grains) we didn’t have any plain old white flour!  Luckily thanks to google we were able to figure out how to substitute.

So here is my Little Chef getting things ready…

I turn my back for one second…

Mixing and sifting the ingredients…

I am not really sure why he thought the winter boots were necessary to complete his ensemble…

What happens when Mr. Independent thinks he can do it “all by myself”…

Finishing touches:

And a very proud chef of his creations!!

Life is short and our kids grow up and change so much with the blink of an eye. I encourage you all to make sure you take the time to document the things that are important in life. How about starting a “Project 52 Weeks” of your own?
